MIDNIGHT TRAVELER – Co-Presentation with Hot Docs

Afghan filmmaker, Hassan Fazili, directed a film about the Taliban—and in March 2015, the Taliban put a bounty on his head. Fazili, his wife and two daughters are forced to make the long journey from Afghanistan to Europe. Refugee stories are often told by outsiders, but Midnight Traveler is a powerful first-person account, with each family member picking up the camera over several years. Fazili stitches together the heart-warming intimacy between a husband and wife caught in a dire situation, while revealing one of life’s great treasures: family belonging.
