Korean Canadian Laurie Kang’s artistic practice includes photography, sculpture, collage, video, and installation work. Created together with her twin sister Hanna Hur, Kang’s video loop Hibernation: Twins Venture Into Collaboration was featured at Reel Asian’s closing night gala party in 2009. Kang has new work as part of the group show everybody agrees that there are some deep mysteries, opening August 11 at The Department (1389 Dundas St W; http://www.thedepartment.ca); exhibition runs thru August 27.
