Reel Asian and the T&T Waterfront Night Market is teaming up again for their 7th annual “Mega Show” with 3 straight nights of outdoor films. We are showing The Rooftop, Monster Hunt, and Wolf Children throughout the weekend of the night market with one film per night from July 22nd to July 24th.
The annual T&T Waterfront Night Market is an exciting outdoor culinary experience featuring an enticing selection of Asian theme ‘street food’ and merchandise for an all-out night market experience. This year Night Market Canada Cultural Organization, the organizers of the Waterfront Night Market, have expanded this year’s event with Kontained by the Pier – a unique pop-up venue that utilizes the space at the Toronto Port Lands.

Recently, a civil war took place in the Monster Realm which resulted in the usurpation of the Monster King’s throne from a treacherous minister, who later sought the Monster Queen and her unborn baby, and the Monster Queen fled to the Human Realm. This Chinese fantasy blockbuster is directed by Raman Hui whose filmography includes work on Antz, Puss-In-Boots, Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Furious Five and his feature directorial debut with Shrek The Third.

SYNOPSIS: Wolf Children tells the story of Hana who meets a mysterious man and falls in love, unaware that he’s a descendant of the Japanese wolf. Together, they have two children, a daughter named Yuki and a son named Ame. The children have the ability to turn into wolves, but when their father is found dead, Hana is left to raise the children on her own. Directed by the masterful Mamoru Hosoda (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, The Boy and the Beast), Wolf Children had its Canadian premiere at the 2012 Reel Asian Film Festival.
