Reel Asian is very proud to announce our international co-presentation with the 22nd ifva Festival for their Home and Mobility program! The lineup includes films made by two of our So You Think You Can Pitch? winners, The Suitcase (Philip Leung) and The Home Promised (Betty Xie). Both directors will be attending the festival representing Reel Asian in Hong Kong.

THE SUITCASE

SYNOPSIS: A mother attempts to calm her daughter down as she is smuggled from rural China to Canada in a suitcase.

THE HOME PROMISED

SYNOPSIS: The Home Promised focuses on an urban neighbourhood on the brink of demolition – the Shaoxing neighbourhood in Taipei, Taiwan. Facing eviction, elderly residents of Shaoxing band together and find a home they never knew they had.
