Reel Asian is proud to co-present the Closing Night Gala at Planet in Focus! Last Harvest follows the story of an elderly Chinese farming couple as they are caught in the middle of China’s controversial South-to-North Water Diversion Project. Forced to relocate, director Hui Wang reveals a touching human drama that unfolds in this documentary about the disconnect between old and new China.

SYNOPSIS Over 800,000 people have been forcibly relocated as a result of China’s controversial South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the largest of its kind in the world. In the process, three ancient cities and 247,000 acres of fertile
farmland have been submerged. Last Harvest follows the riveting journey of an elderly Chinese farming couple whose relocation is imminent as a result of this project.
