Reel Asian celebrated our 5th year in Richmond Hill from November 15-16 right after our Closing Night in Toronto. We showed three exciting films (Manny, Overheard 3 and Brahmin Bulls) and also had a couple special guests in attendance! See more below.
Day One of Richmond Hill and we opened the festival with the inspiring documentary of legendary Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao. Thank you to Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts for the beautiful venue and to our Presenting Sponsor National Bank for arranging complimentary valet service for all guests.
We were thrilled to have Manny director Ryan Moore, MP Costas Menegakis, Councillor Godwin Chan and National Bank representative Monica Lee join us on the red carpet!
Director Ryan Moore brought a pair of boxing gloves, autographed by Manny Pacquiao himself, to giveaway to one lucky audience member. This extremely rare and beautiful gift definitely got the crowd interested! Here is the director posing with the audience prize winner. Congratulations Andrew!

Day 2 and Reel Asian is at SilverCity Richmond Hill for the very first time. Here we are right with all the other Sunday movie-goers.
First film of the day is Overheard 3 (竊聽風雲3) directed by Felix Chong and Alan Mak. Did you know Reel Asian screened the first two films of the Overheard trilogy at Richmond Hill? It was only fitting to bring the final film back here. Thank you to Special Sponsor Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office.
Actor Sendhil Ramamurthy in attendance for our Richmond Hill Closing Night film Brahmin Bulls! You might recognize him as Dr. Suresh in popular TV show Heroes.
