Reel Asian co-presentation of The Apology King at TJFF on June 16!
Reel Asian is proud to co-present the Toronto premiere of The Apology King at the 3rd Annual Toronto Japanese Film Festival. This wild and satirical comedy, starring Sadao Abe, pokes fun at the age-old Japanese practice of apologizing profusely and intensely. The Toronto Japanese Film Festival takes place from June 12-27, at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre.

SYNOPSIS: Nobuo MIzuta’s manic and hilarious comedy looks at the Japanese obsession with good manners, particulary the perfect apology. Ryoro Kurojima (Sadao Abe) is the director or a Tokyo Apology Centre. His job is to teach others how to apologize. Kurojima solves problems by using his apology techniques on anything from simple arbitration to a national crisis. Trailer
