The First Feature program at Reel Asian is designed exclusively for short filmmakers who are in the pre-production phase for their first feature film. The program offers participants a Reel Ideas Industry Badge to the 2017 Reel Asian Film Festival. The curriculum includes Tea Talks, Industry Panels, and networking sessions, plus an exclusive workshop.
Similar to Reel Asian’s So You Think You Can Pitch? competition, but streamlined to help participants develop their project, funding applications, networking tactics, and bridge the gap from short film production to feature film production.
First Feature participants are eligible to apply for Reel Asian’s Telefilm Micro-budget Selection Program.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
• The key members of the creative team (producer, writer, and director) must have produced, directed, and/or written at least one short film (i.e. 30 minutes or less) BUT MUST NOT have produced, directed, or written a feature length film (i.e. 75 minutes or more)
• Have a feature film project or web-series in pre-production
