We hosted our 2nd Annual Reel Asian Gets SPuN Ping Pong Fundraiser at SPiN Toronto on Sunday, June 14. It was a successful and packed event with players at every table. Reel Asian wants to thank everyone who came out and supported us at the fundraiser event. Your contributions has helped to raise more funds towards the festival and year-round events that continue to nurture the growing Asian-Canadian filmmaking community.
We were thrilled to see many new faces, and to be reunited with members of our Reel Asian family (who brought their own families!) for an afternoon of ping pong. As always, thank you to our dedicated team of volunteers for their commitment in ensuring the event ran smoothly! More event details here.

Thank you to our Team & Table Sponsors for your support and in taking part of the games: National Bank, Deloitte, Fasken Martineau, Geoffrey Peers, and UT Chinese Network.
A BIG shout out to our Ping Pong Prize Donors: Luckee Restaurant, SPiN Toronto, Steam Whistle Pilsner, Insomnia Restaurant and Lounge, and Barefoot Wine & Bubbly for supplying us with all the goodies!
Thanks again to SPiN Toronto for sharing this beautiful venue with Reel Asian this year. Emma did a great job being the event emcee for the day, and we can’t wait to see what will unfold at next year’s ping pong!
After several tournament rounds, our first-place ping pong winners goes to Derek & Fred. Both took home $500 worth of prizes which included gift certificates to Air Canada, Insomnia Restaurant, Blue Jays tickets and more!
And not too far behind are the runner-ups, Syed & Lisa. Congrats! The duo was awarded a fantastic prize-pack worth $300, courtesy from SPiN Toronto, Steam Whistle Breweries, and more.
And congrats again to our lucky raffle prize winner, Joseph! He was gifted with an amazing brunch cruise getaway, a $100 gift certificate to celebrity chef Susur Lee’s Luckee Restaurant and more!
Don’t forget, it’s not a Reel Asian event without food on the table, served fresh from SPiN Toronto‘s kitchen.
SELL, SELL, SELL more raffle tickets! 1 ticket? 3 tickets?
Why not just go for arms-length?
And our best team-players goes out to our hardworking volunteers! Some even had the chance to grab the paddle and play a round of ping pong!
We hope you enjoyed the games and we’ll see you next year!
